The rough idea here is to have a list of teachers who were around in the early 70s, and the departments they taught in. I think there are also a few photos we'll be able to get our hands on ...
Departments ?
Maths, English, Modern Languages, Science, Classics, Art, PE, Home Economics, History, Geography, Modern Studies ...
There must be more, pass me your suggestions and any teachers you can think of.
At the top of the tree, of course, was JOHN McBRIDE, a headmaster whose novel way of entering a classroom was known and feared by pupils and staff alike. I think he trained as a Classics teacher. He most definitely had the respect of everybody and proved that size isn't everything.
